Our year 2017 – a retrospect 22.12.2017 - For the IAPM a successful year is coming to an end, a lot of projects could be kicked off or completed.

Besides the already existing free of charge PM guides for classic, agile and international project management, the “White Paper Hybrid Project Management” was published in may. This White Paper unites the worlds of the classic and the agile project management and thus offers project managers in this sector an optimal, independent guideline. In contrast to other guides this does not represent a basis for certification.

IAPM entered into a timely partnership with the Industrie- und Handelskammer Bayern (Bavarian Chamber of Commerce) Graduates of the Project Manager IHK training programme now have the possibility of submitting their certificate to the IAPM and having this recognised internationally without any further examination. If (prospective) project managers do not want extensive instruction, they can participate in a three day training course with the IHK Bayern and conclude this directly with the IAPM certification.

As in 2016, certified IAPM trainers also trained dedicated project management trainees, from Plant for the Planet, within the scope of the two week Youth Summit 2017, and prepared them for the IAPM certification. A task we enjoyed doing! 

As early as August we could register 100 IAPM certificates from 100 nations. This milestone was planned for December 2017 and was thus achieved four months earlier.

The cooperation with the Deutschen Projekt Akademie (German Project Academy) was also extended in August. The academy offers courses in project management which end with and internal certification and the IAPM certification. As a result of this cooperation, the IAPM was able to reach more interested parties and thus to extend the network.

The last great milestone of the year 2017 was the development and introduction of the certification to Cert. Junior Agile Project Manager (IAPM). This certification is aimed at people just starting in the agile project management and represents an ideal basis for students or young professionals who are active in the agile environment.
