Event tip: PM Camp in Zurich on 25 and 26 April 2014

A BarCamp is a very special kind of 'un-conference'. It’s an open and participatory workshop event, the content of which is provided by participants. The exciting thing about BarCamps is that the participants can create their own agenda and focus on topics that are relevant to them. They generate in-depth discussions that provide food for ideas, allow participants to interact in an informal setting and often produce specific approaches to problem solving.
Each session is restricted to one hour in length and can begin with a question, a problem or a brief introduction to a topic so that there are no endless monologues. Instead, participants are expected to be spontaneous and participate.
On 25 April, Mischa Ramseyer, the founder of “pragmatic solutions”, agile coach and trainer, will be giving a spontaneous presentation on the subject of “What does management mean in the 21st century?“. He’ll be talking about current challenges in the economy and labour market and explaining how to structure an “adaptive pragmatic organisation“ and the relevant management model so that companies can survive in the 21st century.
On 26 April, Markus Aeschimann, Director Corporate Project Management, and Katja de Groot, Head of PM Training and Development at Swarovski will be giving a presentation on the subject of “How Swarovski makes its project managers fit for the future.“ The presentation covers the importance of project and change management, the project management office at Swarovski and an explanation of how project management, change management, coaching and training for project managers and customers and many other PMO services all fit together. PM Camp participants will have the opportunity to try out some of the Swarovski training methods themselves.
It’s going to be an exciting two-day event with lots of inspirational experiences and networking. A post-camp PM Party will round off the weekend.
