Project Management Software Shortlist: These are the top performers and emerging favourites of 2022
Capterra publishes a new project management software shortlist of the best tools on the German market. The Capterra Shortlist is based on a documented methodology and uses subjective opinions from end-user reviews, ratings and other data. It is neither an opinion nor a recommendation of Capterra or any of its affiliates.
The Capterra Shortlist is a proprietary report that contains the most powerful software products based on the tools' awareness (y-axis) and their user ratings (x-axis) and ranks them in four categories. This identifies top performers (1st quadrant), emerging favourites (4th quadrant), established players (2nd quadrant) or stand-out products (3rd quadrant). Exclusive data and verified user reviews are prepared so that those interested in software can get an overview and make their own choice.
Top-Performer
The software evaluation platform Capterra identified nine project management tools as top performers of 2022. These tools have mostly been on the market for a long time; they are largely well-known products with the highest user ratings: Trello, Jira, Asana, Evernote Teams, monday.com, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Onlyoffice Workspace and Ganttproject.
Emerging favourites
12 products made it into the category of emerging favourites. These applications are often less well-known or still comparatively new on the market, but show a high level of user satisfaction (in some cases better than the top performers!). These are: Zoho Projects, ActiveCollab, holaSpirit, Nifty, MeisterTask, Todoist, Scoro, Celoxis, Orangescrum, GanttPRO, Zoho Sprints and WordPress Portal.
Established players
These popular products have been on the market for a long time or are already used by many people. In one area, they are already well known. These products include: Wrike, Odoo and Podio.
Selection criteria
The Capterra Shortlist rates providers on two levels: User ratings and awareness. Only overall product ratings from the last 24 months are taken into account. The popularity component is based on the average monthly search volume for a standardised set of keywords for each product and their positioning of the software provider's domain in the search results (SERP). User interest and relevance serve as a benchmark here and provide information about the popularity or awareness of a product. Thus, the Capterra Shortlist reflects a snapshot of the data sources.
The software tools also meet certain framework conditions in order to qualify. These include, for example, a number of required functions or availability on the German market and in the German language. Furthermore, it must not be a "niche solution" that is exclusively aimed at a certain type of user - but is relevant for software interested parties from different industries or sectors.
