Write for IAPM - Guidelines for submitting your guest article

Would you like to publish an article on the IAPM Blog? We are pleased that you have found your way to us! To ensure that your contribution can be published smoothly, please take note of the following information.

Which topics are possible?

The IAPM Blog covers only topics related to project management. Examples include:
 
  • Presentation of project management software or books
  • Professional commentary on methods, frameworks, or processes
  • Experience reports and reflections on specific PM topics
If the connection is not immediately obvious, please explain in your request what added value the article will provide for our readers.

Guidelines

To ensure high quality and relevance for our readers, the following rules apply:

Backlinks
 
  • Backlinks in the article text are only permitted after prior agreement.
  • In the author biography, you may include one backlink free of charge.
  • Additional backlinks outside of the biography are subject to a fee (on request).
  • Paid backlinks are always marked as such – without exception.
  • Not permitted are:
    • Backlinks to unrelated websites or sites without added value for our readers.
    • Content with spam, misleading statements, gambling, ghostwriting, or content that contradicts the values of the IAPM.
Other requirements
 
  • Articles must contain at least 700 words.
  • Contributions are published in German or English (translation will be provided by us).
  • Articles must address readers directly.
  • Previously published or simultaneously published contributions cannot be accepted.
  • We reserve the right to make comprehensive editorial adjustments.

The procedure

Choose a topic
Select a PM-relevant topic and, if necessary, formulate a brief justification.

Send request
Send your idea by e-mail to Franziska Hinze. Your message must include:
  • The topic and, if applicable, your explanation.
  • Any potential backlink (according to the above guidelines).
Review & approval
We will provide feedback within one week. If you do not hear from us, please check your spam folder or contact us again.

Write the article
Use our previous blog posts as a guide.

Submit & finalize
Submit your text. We will proofread and translate it, and coordinate publication with you. If you submit images, please ensure that you own the rights to them and grant us written permission to use them.

Publication
Your contribution will appear on the IAPM Blog – possibly also on Medium and LinkedIn (without biography and backlinks there). If you do not want this, please let us know in advance.​

The IAPM certification

The certification can be taken via a reputable online examination procedure. The costs are based on the gross domestic product of your country of origin.
