ONLINE EXAMINATIONS
Project managers have very tight sched-
ules. We developed the online examination
process for our certifications to reflect the
modern-day manager’s working life.
The benefits of an online examination are
obvious. People who take an online exami-
nation can decide when and where to take
it. The online test has a tight timeframe
and demands a high level of concentra-
tion on the certification candidate’s part.
We therefore recommend that the test is
taken at a time when interruptions can be
ruled out.
To ensure that the computer being used
satisfies the technical requirements for
the examination, we recommend the com-
puter test that is provided on our website.
Feedback from certificate holders and HR
development managers confirms that the
online procedure is the most convenient.
There are no travel expenses, no expensive
rescheduling in case of illness, no pressure
of time to prepare for the examination and
more time to do what you enjoy: working
in projects.
Candidates are required to provide an affi-
davit beforehand confirming that they have
completed the examination questions with-
out any outside assistance or materials.
The affidavit is the equivalent of a sworn
oath. If the IAPM ascertains that the certi-
fication candidate did not comply with the
affidavit, it will revoke the certification and
reserves the right to take legal action.

CERTIFICATION
The IAPM’s certification examinations are
taken online and the examination taker’s
responses are assessed entirely anony-
mously in a database. Personal sensitivi-
ties and emotional empathy or antipathy
do not play a role because there is no oral
assessment. The procedure also rules out
a certification candidate being disadvan-
taged due to religion or appearance. Our
certification candidates all have equal op-
portunities because their answers are as-
sessed completely objectively. The only
things that count are their knowledge and
experience.
