Review of the year 2020
The Covid-19 pandemic kept and still keeps the whole world on tenterhooks. The year 2020 was a unique year for everyone: habits had to be changed, digitalisation was forced to proceed and challenges were mastered. Also (or above all), project managers had to struggle with this situation in particular. This is because in the project management environment, on-site collaboration is essential. This year, many employees had to work from home and had to manage their project team from there, maintain communication and successfully complete projects.
In a few days, a new decade will begin - we are already excited about what awaits us!
The International Association of Project Managers (IAPM) can proudly say that this year has been well mastered. At the beginning of the year, the web-learning plattform for the Certified Project Manager (IAPM) and Certified Senior Project Manager (IAPM) certifications was published. This platform enables project managers to prepare perfectly for these two exams through self-study - without having to leave home to attend on-site trainings. The IAPM reacted quickly and successfully expanded its existing online concept with this offer.
IAPM's official training partners also revised their training approach and began offering courses online via Skype, Zoom, MS Teams and WebEx, among others. Accordingly, the trainers were also able to prepare interested persons for the certification exam who did not want to do without the support of a coach.
Starting this year, the IAPM Essentials are published weekly. This blog post series deals with interesting articles on the topic of project management. Here you get an overview of exciting topics. The original articles are just a click away.
Cheat sheets, which have been published since autumn, are another IAPM novelty. Currently there are cheat sheets for the following certification levels:
You will find all the information on the respective certification collected on these cheat sheets. This gives you a guide that supports and leads you through the certification process. The remaining cheat sheets will be published step by step in the spirit of agility.
This year, the IAPM entered into some new collaborations, e.g. with the PMO Global Alliance, with the Women PowerUP Network and the i2p2m. We also welcomed 13 new Network Officials this year. Many Network Meetings were held virtually because of, but also thanks to, the special circumstances. This step enabled participants to attend IAPM events regardless of their location. The first meetings for next year are already being planned.
We look forward to further cooperation with our new and former partners, our Ambassadors and Network Officials.
