This week, these three articles were particularly inspiring:

What is project management? (Redefined for 2021)
Almost every organisation nowadays runs projects and therefore also employs project managers. Is this an innovation of our time? Probably not. Just remember the first moon landing - a project that was successfully carried out decades ago. Adam Hayes refers to an even older project: The pyramids of Giza, which were built 4500 years ago. Today, as 4500 years ago, whether projects are a success or a failure depends on project management. But how do projects like the pyramids differ from today's projects? Above all, over the last centuries projects and therefore project management have become more and more complex. Although, or rather because there are many tools which support project managers, problems can arise. That means: Where is too much choice, inequalities are not rare.

When Your Task List is Overwhelmingly Long
Do you maintain a to-do list that gets longer every day? Or are you more the type of person who keeps lots of lists, notes or similar to keep track of your tasks? Whether you belong to the first or the second group, you will certainly feel overwhelmed when you think about the tasks to be done. Leo Babauta gives you a few tips on how to reduce this feeling of being overwhelmed. First of all, it is important to put your list in order: set priorities! Only when you have set priorities will you know what to focus on. It is best to set these priorities in a written form. Then the author recommends that you change the relationship to your tasks. Put the tasks to be completed in a positive context. The next step is to identify the five or six most important tasks for today. Write these tasks on your "Today's Joy List" and work on them today. Finally, there is only one thing left to say: concentrate on the task you are currently working on and do not get distracted.

Why Agile Transformations Sometimes Fail
When an organisation decides to become more agile and wants to undertake an Agile Transformation, it must be aware of two things. Agile Transformation is a process and not a goal. It can also take a long time before the first results can be recognized. During the process of Agile Transformation many companies fail. Magdalena Firlit lists some reasons that can be determining. One reason for a problematic Agile Transformation is an unsuitable corporate culture and too rigid hierarchies. Another problem occurs when the Agile Transformation is desired but not justified. If the employees do not know the reason, the implementation can fail. In addition, misunderstandings can arise between customers and developers. If they do not communicate directly with each other, the transformation may be a failure.
